Apptis Technology Solutions To Provide IT Service Management Tool for United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)
Chantilly, VA — January 30, 2009 — Apptis Technology Solutions, a division of Apptis, Inc., and a technology solutions provider and value-added reseller, announced today that it has been awarded a five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Under the terms of the agreement, Apptis Technology Solutions will implement, automate and integrate an ITSM Tool from BMC Software for operations across agencies within the USDA Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The solution will create a standard platform for managing the information technology networks, applications and data in adherence with ITIL Service Support processes.

The BPA utilizes USDA's internal purchasing system, enabling faster, more efficient ordering of Apptis Technology Solutions and BMC Software offerings. Areas of emphasis for the BPA include a shared Configuration Management Database (CMDB) that will be part of a fully integrated ITSM solution. The ITSM Tool will enable the tracking and sharing of USDA assets and licenses and will provide agent and agentless auto-discovery of information within the OCIO's enterprise data centers, across 3,500 field offices.
