Apptis Technology Solutions Awarded Technical Refresh for Department of Interior
Chantilly, VA — October 6, 2009 — Apptis Technology Solutions, a technology solutions provider and value-added reseller, announced it was awarded a five-year, $6.5 million project for the Department of Interior (DOI) National Business Center (NBC) Financial and Business Management System (FBMS) with its partner Sun Microsystems Federal.
The FBMS is an SAP solution designed to help the DOI ensure efficient use of limited resources by incorporating the majority of its financial management functions into one system. The solution eliminates 80 DOI and bureau-specific systems, allowing for improved operational decision-making using a common technology platform.
Together, Apptis Technology Solutions and Sun Microsystems Federal created new hardware architecture for FBMS that supports existing applications and expands capacities required for future SAP deployments.

Under the terms of the contract, Apptis Technology Solutions utilized Sun Microsystems hardware and software, and provided engineering services for architecture design and implementation. It also coordinated with multiple branches of the DOI to ensure a timely deployment.
